Salvatore Curto opens his yearly art exhibition. Salvatore has been a member of IKIS for many years. He loves to paint, sing and to play the guitar.

When he was a little boy he learned all the San Remo songs and was often asked to sing at parties later on.

At school, he really did not like mathematics, but loved drawing and painting.

- So I got to copy my mates homework in mathematics, and in return I did their drawings, he tells us.

He moved to Palermo to study art, but after one year he had to start working due to his economical situation. 

After he won a song contest in Germany in 1969 he decided to focus on music.

He travelled with his band, Black Spirit, for seven years, always carrying his painting equipment with him. He came to Norway with his band in 1974.

He says that his passion for art has been strong all these years. He has learnt by following masters and in 2001 he made his debut with his solo exhibition in Den Katolske Kirken i Stavanger/Menighetshuset. 

Since then he has been painting full time and has executed his yearly exhibition. He is looking forward to seeing you at the vernissage Thursday 4.4. at 18.00-20.00.
